Obituary of Lawrence Weir

LAWRENCE F. WEIR STERLING- Lawrence F. Weir, 95, died Friday, March 27, 2009 at Coventry Village. He was employed as a Chicago Policeman, detective division, for thirty years, retiring in 1970. Lawrence was born October 30, 1913 in Chicago, the son of James and Valborg (Junget) Weir. He married Margaret Joyce on February 26, 1938 in Chicago, she preceded him in death on July 20, 1968. Survivors include; two sons, Thomas Weir of Rock Falls and James (Elizabeth) Weir of Visalia, CA; sister, Mary Weir Price of Roseville, CA; one daughter-in-law, Mary Weir-Krueger of West Bend, WI and five grandchildren, Robert (Debra) Weir of Rock Falls, Michael Weir of West Bend, WI, Elizabeth Weir of Tokyo, Japan, Margaret (Matthew Allison) Weir of Chicago and Jonathan Weir of Visalia, CA; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, John and Richard Weir. There will be no funeral services. Burial will be 11:30 Tuesday March 31, 2009 at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. With prayer service at 6:30 PM. A memorial has been established.
