Obituary of Chester Martin

STERLING- Chester L. Martin, 97, of Sterling, died Thursday, February 5, 2015. Chester was born on December 19, 1917, near Morrison, the son of Max and Dora (Habben) Martin. He married Alvena Holy on June 28, 1941 in St. Louis, MO. He was employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire Company for 45 years, and served in the United States Air Force during World War II. Survivors include one son, Gary (Judi) Martin, of Sterling; one granddaughter, Angela (Dave) Jackley, of Sterling; and two great-grandsons, Brandon and Logan; one great-granddaughter Madison; and one great-great grandson, Wyatt. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Ellsworth. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 11:30 AM, at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Sterling, with Pastor David Burge officiating. A memorial has been established.
