STERLING- Mary Jo Anne Burkhalter, 78, of Sterling, died Monday, February 16, 2015. Mary Jo was born on September 15, 1936, in Spokane, WA, the daughter of James and Marion (Stark) DuBois. She married Harold C. Burkhalter on May 15, 1965 in Springfield. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Sterling. Survivors include her husband, Harold; two daughters, Beth (Bill) Minder, of Rochester, and Patty (Thad) O’Brien, of Sterling; four sons, Bill (Laura) Burkhalter, of Arlington Heights, John (Rebecca) Burkhalter, of Aurora, Tim (Jen) Burkhalter, of Wauconda; and Bob (Fiancee Brooke Parsons) Burkhalter, of Champaign; two brothers, Ron (Kay) DuBois, of Braintree, MA, and Mike DuBois, of Nashville, TN; and 14 grandchildren, Madison, Spencer, Tyler, Drew, Brad, Patrick, Peter, Ben, Anna, Luke, Andy, Chris, Josh, and Cameron. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Dick DuBois. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 with Mass 11 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling, with Reverend James Keenan officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Sterling. Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling is handling arrangements.
