Obituary of O. Keith Coats

STERLING- Keith Coats, 90, of Sterling, died Sunday, March 22, 2015. Keith was born on December 20, 1924. He married Mildred Widder on July 25, 1947 at East Jordan United Methodist Church, where he was a member. She preceded him in death on January 29, 1989. Survivors include two daughters, Tammy (Rick) Mills, of Oregon, and Julie (Craig) Tompkins, of Rock Falls; one son, Kent (Janet) Coats, of Canton, OH; one brother, Lyle (Marge) Coats, of Mt. Carroll; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two sisters, June Gibbs, and Lois Coats; one son Warren Coats; and two brothers, Wendell and Cloy Coats. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11 AM at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, with Reverend James Miller officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 10 AM to 11 AM. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Sterling, with Military Honors. A memorial has been established.
