Obituary of Donald Dean Hunter

Donald D. Hunter, 73, of Sterling died Friday May 8, 2015. He was employed by North Western Steel and Wire Co. until his retirement. Donald was the proud father of three, he served in the Navy as a corpsman, and a member of the Sterling American Legion. Donald was born November 20, 1941 in Sterling, the son of Donald and Jennalee (Brown) Hunter. He married Mary Jo Britt in Morrison on December 15, 1972. Survivors include his wife Mary Jo; one daughter Jennasue (John) Stinson of Dixon; one son JoeDon (Jessica) Hunter of Sterling; nine grandchildren Jeremy and Justin Hunter, John, Jadon, and Jaelinn Stinson, Kalyb, Alex, Christopher, and Jason Hunter; and one great grandchild Carter Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Christopher Hunter, and one sister Janis Card. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May13, 2015 at 11AM, at Schilling Funeral Home, in Sterling. Visitation will be Tuesday May 12, 2015, from 4-6PM at Schilling Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to Gaffey Home Nursing and Hospice.
