STERLING – LaVonne A. Colloton, 84, died at her home on Thursday, August 13, 2015. LaVonne A. Colloton was born on April 20, 1931 in Rockford, the daughter of Veda and Charles E. Anderson. She married John Colloton in October 1949. She was employed at the Illinois Department of Employment Security from 1975 until her retirement on December 31, 2004. She served on the Board of Directors of CGH Medical Center beginning in 2005.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Colloton of Franklin, NC, Mark Colloton of Westminster, CO, and Martin Colloton of Springfield, IL; six grandsons; six great-grandchildren; one niece, and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, at the First Christian Church in Sterling with Reverend Courtney Montgomery Chandler officiating pastor. Cremation rites will be accorded after the funeral. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Tuesday, August 18th, 2015 at Schilling Funeral Home.
A Memorial has been established to the CGH Medical Center.
