Maxine Eula Hall, 103, of Sterling, died Monday, October 10, 2016 at Sterling Pavilion Nursing Home. Maxine was born October 4, 1913 in Walnut, the daughter of Edgar and Florence E. (Draper) Hall. She was a graduate of Walnut Community High School and attended business school. She was a graduate of Northern Illinois University. She taught school in Bureau and Whiteside County for many years. She was a fifty year member of Royal Neighbors of Silverthorne Camp #1491 New Bedford, Order of Easter Star #354, Sterling, life member of National Education Association, Illinois and Whiteside County Retired Teachers Associations, and American Association of Retired Persons. Life member of Disciples of Christ Historical Society, member of Sterling-Rock Falls Historical Society, member of Sterling Christian (Disciple) Church and the Christian Women’s Fellowship. Survivors include several cousins and friends including, Clifford (Ruth) Garriott of Sterling. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Walnut Cemetery, Walnut, with the Reverend Tanya Tyler, pastor of First Christian Church of Sterling, officiating. There will be no visitation.
