Jeff A. Lang, 53, of Sterling died Sunday, October 23, 2016 at CGH Medical Center. He was a machinist at Frantz Manufacturing, Sterling. Jeff was born April 9, 1963 in Freeport, the son of Jerry and Marguerite (Warken) Lang. He married LeNie Ferris on June 30, 2003 in Murphysboro. Jeff was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, camping, and all outdoor activities. He was a hard worker who loved his job and kept busy with numerous tasks where he was highly skilled. He spent several years landscaping and enjoyed living in Southern Illinois with his wife LeNie and stepson Joseph Ferrell. He enjoyed his Pittsburg Steelers very much and the last few months spending time with his children Ashley and Drew. His family and friends will deeply miss Jeff for his wiry sense of humor and his willingness to help those who needed him. His battle with lymphoma dampened and weakened his body but his spirit remained strong. Survivors include his wife, LeNie of Sterling; his father, Jerry Lang of Freeport; two children, Ashley Krusey of German Valley and Drew Lang of Freeport and four step children, Abraham Braker of Janesville, WI, Abiyah Bragg of Rockford, Ariel Braker of Dixon and Joseph Ferrell of Folsom, CA; two grandchildren, Easton and Baylor Krusey and several step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 1-5 PM at 1304 East Fourth Street, Sterling. A memorial has been established. Arrangements completed by Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling. Condolences may be sent to www.schillingfuneralhome.com.
