Kenneth G. Dirks, 90, of Sterling, died Tuesday March 28, 2017. Kenneth was born December 9, 1926 in Sterling, the son of Lester and Florence (Onken) Dirks. He married Helen Miller on November 3, 1950 in Sterling. She preceded him in death on August 28, 2007.
Survivors include one daughter Barbara (Mike) Bays of Sterling; one son Steve (Dawn) Dirks of Erie; one brother Donald (Leona) Dirks of Sterling; two grandchildren Steve (Nicole) Dirks Jr., and Alana Gaffey; six great-grandchildren David McNeely, Madison Coleman, Skylar Tessier, Johnny Gaffey Jr., Xander Dirks, Zachary Dirks; and many Nieces and Nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his his parents, and one sister Jean Harper.
Cremation rites have been accorded and memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M., Saturday April 8, 2017 at Rock Falls United Methodist Church, with Reverend Dr. Solomon Sudhakar, officiating. Visitation will be from 2P.M to 2:30 P.M.. Inturment will take place at a later date.
A memorial has been established.
