Obituary of Faye Evelyn Goldacker

FAYE EVELYN GOLDACKER

STERLING-Faye Evelyn Overbey-Goldacker, 97 of Sterling, died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Parkway Center.

    Faye was born June 15, 1920 in Stuttgart, Arkansas the daughter of Frank and Leola (Hudson) Lorton. She married James L. Overbey on February 29, 1942. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1972. She later married Carlyle “Korky” Goldacker on July 6, 1974. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2002.     

    Faye retired from National Foods Grocery Store in 1981 after thirty years of service. She then  moved to Rail’s End Park near Wildwood, FL. Later residing in Springfield and finally to Sterling, she was a member of First Baptist Church, Sterling.           

    Survivors include daughter, Sherrilyn “Sherry” Sandrock of Prophetstown; daughter-in-law, Matilda Overbey of Caldwell, ID;  step-daughter-in-law Caroline Goldacker; three step-children, Don (Debra) Goldacker, Gene (Janice) Goldacker, and Mary Kay (Mike) Lowe; sister-in-law, Grace Lorton; six grandchildren, Jill (Alan) Swearingen of Columbia, MO; Abigail “Abi” Sandrock of Sterling, Charles Victor Sandrock of Bloomington, Jackie Valdez and Simon (Maria) Franco, both of Nampa, ID and Guy (Maggie) Franco of Caldwell, ID; three step-grandchildren, Cathi Aughenbaugh, Amy Konieczmy and Sarah Goldacker; six great-grandchildren, Ryan Swearingen, Alyvia Swearingen, Myria Sandrock, Emyli Sandrock, Revin Sandrock and Kaidyn Danner-Sandrock and several step-great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her son, James Roger Overbey;  son-in-law, Charles “Doug” Sandrock; three sisters, Mildred Redfern, Ruth Duggar, and Wilma Duran; two brothers, Harold Lorton and Carl Lorton and stepson Reverend Gary Goldacker.

    Funeral services will be held at 5PM Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling with Pastor Jack Smith, officiating. Visitation will be from 3PM-4:45PM prior to the service. Burial will be at 2 PM Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights.                  

     A memorial has been established to Parkway Center and Rock River Hospice and Home, Sterling.
