MORRISON - Emma J. Vervaecke, 104, of Morrison, passed away at her home, Thursday, June 04, 2020. Emma was born March 6, 1916 in rural Hoopole, the daughter of Clarence and Edna (Johnson) Sibley. She married Emil “Red” Vervaecke in 1938 in Clinton, IA. He preceded her in death in October of 2000. Emma was a great candy maker she was most known for her famous divinity fudge and chocolate covered cherries. Survivors include her son, Richard Vervaecke of Mosinee, WI; one daughter, Kathy Williams of Morrison; one son-in-law, Thomas Huett of Middleburg, FL; seven grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren. Emma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Karen Huett; three sisters; one brother; one daughter-in-law, Geraldine Vervaecke. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements were completed by Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling. A memorial has been established. Memorials may be sent to Schilling Funeral Home P.O. Box 592 Sterling, IL 61081 and will be forwarded to the family.
