James Wink

JAMES H. WINK STERLING-James H. Wink, 89, died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at CGH Medical Center. He was a farmer in the Milledgeville area for forty years, retiring in 1988. Upon retirement, they moved to Rock Falls, and later to Parkway Center in Sterling. Jim was born February 4, 1924 in Sterling, the son of Julius August and Alma Amalie Laura (Hess) Wink. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He married Ida Ann Harms on June 8, 1948 in Rock Falls. He was a lifetime member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He served on the Carroll County Fair Board, Milledgeville Park District, and the Lions Club. Jim enjoyed singing and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Ida Ann; four daughters, Christine Reed of Rockford, Mary K. (Mark) Bain of Washington; Suzanne (Doug) Patton of Novi, MI; Marsha (Reverend Dan) Fulmer of Charlevoix, MI; one son, Reverend Thomas (Linda) Wink of Hartland, WI; one brother, Donald Wink of Glenview; twelve grandchildren, Shauna (Jason) Bartel, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Wink; Kathryn (Scott) Skonieczny, Abigail Reed, Travis Reed, Joseph Reed; Matthew (Jenny) Bain, Laura (Tom) Hagan; Amanda Patton, Ryan Patton; Kristen Fulmer and James Fulmer; six great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Wink. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, January 20, 2014 at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sterling, with the Reverend Patrick Pinion, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Sunday at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling, and one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday.
