ADAN RAMIREZ STERLING- Adan Ramirez, 76, of Sterling, peacefully passed away, Wednesday morning, August 26th 2020, at OSF Hospital, Rockford. Mr. Adan Ramirez was born January 21,1944 in Atoyac, Mexico. He resided in Sterling for over forty-five years. He worked for Sterling Commercial Roofing up until his retirement. Adan was an avid Cubs/Bears fan and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sports games. He also enjoyed family cookouts and spending time outside with his flowers. Adan was a strong, proud, and good man. He is loved and will be missed by many. He is survived by three sons, Fernando (Chelsey) Ramirez and Adan (Jill) Ramirez, both of Sterling and Edward Ramirez of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Tranquelina Garcia of Sterling, Maria de Jesus Ramirez of Rockford, and Maria Guadalupe of Mexico; two brothers, Jacinto Ramirez of Sterling and Javier Ramirez of Mexico; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister, and two children in infancy. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 11:30 AM Monday, August 31, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Sterling with Reverend Jorge Bravo, officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM -11:30 AM, prior to services, at the church. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 guidelines masks and social distancing requirements will be enforced. A memorial has been established. Memorials may also be sent to Schilling Funeral Home PO Box 592, Sterling, IL 61081 and will be forwarded to the family.
