STERLING- ALOISE E. MIATKE, 89, went peacefully into the arms of our Lord on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Coventry Living Center. Aloise was born on April 9, 1925 in Morrison, the daughter of Herman and Lise (Hinrichs) Landheer. She married Darrel W. Miatke on January 25, 1948 at the former Second Avenue Lutheran Church. She and her husband farmed together for many years and enjoyed time with family and friends. Darrel preceded her in death on February 9, 1990. Aloise was a member of the Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church and took an active part in Ladies Aid, Christian Service League, and the Evangelism Board. She also enjoyed twenty years of volunteer service with the Women's Auxiliary at CGH Medical Center. Survivors include three sons, Phil (Linda) Miatke of Sterling, David (Marilyn) Miatke of West Lafayette, IN, Keith (Vali) Miatke of Neillsville, WI; one daughter, Marcia (John) Schmitt of Mt. Horeb, WI; ten grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, Nov 26, 2014 at the Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sterling with Pastor David Burge officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Tuesday evening at the Schilling Funeral Home. Memorials have been established to the Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, Christ Lutheran School, and Vitas Hospice. A special thank you goes to the staff at Coventry Living Center and Vitas Hospice, for taking such wonderful care of Aloise.
