Ann Elizabeth Rodekamp, 94, died Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Rock River Hospice and Home surrounded by her family. Ann was born July 26, 1927 in Marshfield, WI, the daughter of Carl and Frieda (Weller) Zimmer. She was raised in Stevens Point, WI. After graduating high school she attended Columbia School of Nursing in Milwaukee, becoming a registered nurse. She then went to work for Cook County Hospital where she met the love of her life. On November 12, 1948 she married Frederick Carl Rodekamp, Sr. They moved to Sterling in 1949 where she worked for Dr. Zemke. She then went to work for CGH for thirty-two years in OB retiring in 1986. Ann was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Mary Martha Circle of which she was the chairman for many years. Ann taught Sunday School, Jr. Church, served on many church committees including church secretary and chairman of the F.U.M.C. Board. Ann had a love for volunteering, which formed her philosophy that you give and help others and expect nothing in return. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, volunteered for the Sauk Valley Alzheimer's Association, Rock River Hospice and Home and Morrison Southside Elementary School as a Grandma for twenty years. Ann and Fred spent many summers at Snuffy’s Campsite in Sauk City, WI with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ann was an avid knitter, providing her grandchildren with many sweaters. Her passion was attending as many activities of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she could fit in. Survivors include seven children, sixteen grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Her son, Fred C. (Jane) Rodekamp of Sterling, his children, Angie Lobdell, Carrie (Rich) Halverson, Craig (Jessica) Truedson and Deanna (Patrick) McKillips. Her son, David (Ruth) Rodekamp of Sterling, his children, Matthew (Karen) Rodekamp, Jamie (Tom) Richards and Travis Rodekamp. Her daughter, Rebecca (Dave) Allen of Sterling, her children, Jason (Tina) Allen and Justin (Kala) Allen. Her daughter, Susan Keime of Sterling, her children, Seth (Jennie) Keime, Tyler Keime, Erich (Jessi) Keime and Ashleigh Goodpaster. Her daughter, Nancy Rodekamp of Prophetstown. Her daughter, Amy (H. Kris) Young of Sterling, her children, Chad (Abby) Young, Lauren Young and Adam Young and son, Daniel Rodekamp of Madison, WI; great-grandchildren, Vivian and Nate Lobdell, Chloe, Isaac, Noah, and Elias Halverson and Dylan and Ellie McKillips, Nora and Carlie Truedson, Eden and Claire Rodekamp, Lizzie (Lucas) Birdsall, Cara, Kennedi, Emilee and Charlee Richards, Andrew, Kyle and Ryan Allen, James and Eric Allen, Gaige Keime, Taylor and Morgan Keime and Aleeya Young Dykstra and one great-great granddaughter, Arabella Birdsall. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frederick Carl Rodekamp, Sr. on April 13, 2001 and one granddaughter, Heather Allen. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday November 13, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Sterling, with pastor Brad Wilson, officiating. Visitation will be 5PM-8PM Friday November 12, 2021, at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, and Saturday from 10AM-11AM one hour prior to the funeral at First United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Oak Knoll Memorial Park immediately following the funeral. A memorial has been established to First United Methodist Church, and Rock River Hospice & Home.
