ARLENE F. SHIPLEY STERLING - Arlene F. Shipley, 94, of Coventry Village, died January 28, 2012 at CGH Medical Center after a brief illness. She worked in the office of National Manufacturing Company retiring in 1984 as Advertising Secretary. Arlene was born September 16, 1917, the daughter of Cleo and Mary (Swope) Steiner. She was a 1935 graduate of Sterling High School and later attended the Scovill School in Sterling. She married Ralph Shipley of Mt. Airy, MD on January 16, 1955 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1960. She was a member of Science Ridge Mennonite Church, Sterling. Survivors include her son, Neal (Pennie) Shipley, of Sterling; one brother, Harold (Lois) Steiner, of Sterling; one grandson, Phillip Shipley, of Sterling; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Science Ridge Mennonite Church, Sterling with Pastor Arnie Owens, officiating. Burial will be at Science Ridge Mennonite Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation is from 4-6 PM, Friday, February 3, 2012 at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. A memorial has been established.
