Betty Holy

STERLING- Betty “Bette” Holy, 89, died, Sunday, July 21, 2019 at CGH Medical Center of Sterling. Bette was born December 20, 1929 in Little Rock, the daughter of Robert and Nettie Elizabeth (Gray) Fortune. She married George Holy on June 6, 1950 in Denver, CO. Bette enjoyed writing poetry and short stories. She also was talented in sculpting and drawing. Bette was involved in acting and modeling while living in New York and also started a theater group here in Sterling. Bette was a member of New Life Lutheran Church, Sterling. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Jeff (Karen) Holy of Sterling, Christopher Holy of Milford, CT, and Zachary (Gayle) Holy of NJ; one brother, Richard (Theresa) Walters; one sister, Patsy (Tom) Cooper; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Wanda Walters; and one brother, Lawrence Walters. There will be no services. Cremation Rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established.
