BETTY LOU YOUNG STERLING- Betty Lou Young, 84, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling. Betty was born October 30, 1928 in Sterling, the daughter of Earl W. and Gladys (Wolber) Leseman. She was a graduate of Wallace School and attended Sterling High School. She married Lauren E. Young on October 7, 1951 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sterling. Betty and her husband farmed in Jordan Township until they retired in 1997. Lauren preceded her in death on October 5, 2011. Survivors include three sons, Barry (Donna) Young, Kris (Amy) Young and Jim Bob Young, all of Sterling; one granddaughter, Lindsay Young of Oak Park; four grandsons, Bryce Young of Dixon and Chad, Lauren and Adam Young, all of Sterling; one great granddaughter, Aleeya; as well as many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents , one sister, Mary Jane (Leseman) Stralow and one brother, Melvin Leseman. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling with the Reverend Paul Judd, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Sterling and David Jungnickel, pastor of Coleta United Methodist, Sterling co-officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation will be from 10-11:45 AM, prior to services at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.
