BILL N. FEATHER STERLING- Bill N. Feather, 72, died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at his home, after a long battle with cancer. Bill was born March 10, 1944 in Sims, Illinois, the son of Noel and Opal (Lamb) Feather, Sr. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1962 and served in the U.S Army from 1963-1966, stationed in Germany. Bill enjoyed his time in Germany and was able to tour all of Europe in the summer playing on the Army tennis team. He married Sandy Fulfs on May 27, 1966 in Sterling. Bill was in the insurance business all of his life. In 1973, Clayton and Bob Schuneman asked Bill to join them in their agency. Bill purchased the agency from the Schuneman’s when they left the business. Later, Ron Hartz joined him and they worked together at Schuneman Insurance Agency (SIA) until they retired. Bill had an open door policy and loved talking and laughing with people. We all remember his infectious laugh. Bill loved golf, and after he retired he played whenever he was able. Survivors include his wife, Sandy of Sterling; daughter, Kelli Feather-Henigan of Winnebago; son, Shane Feather of Rock Falls; sisters, Jean Pearson of Tavares, FL and Dolores (Rusty) Fulfs of Bolingbrook; brothers, Donald Ellis of Mt.Vernon and Noel (Sue) Feather of Sterling; two grandsons, Garret and Hunter Henigan of Winnebago.; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. He loved little ones the most. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Gerald, in infancy. Visitation will be 11:30-2:00 Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation, Sterling. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established.
