CELIA CHAVEZ VASQUEZ ROCK FALLS- Celia Chavez Vasquez, of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Rock Falls Civic Plaza. She worked in the cafeterias of Mexican Public Schools. Celia was born December 27, 1932 in Mexico City. The daughter of Rufio and Julia (Vasquez) Chavez. She married Nicholas Sanchez in 1951 in Mexico City. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1998. Survivors include five daughters, Martha (Daniel) Corona, Sr. of Rock Falls, Maria Elena, Lidia, Guadalupe and Claudia Sanchez, all of Mexico City; one son, Leopoldo Sanchez of Mexico City; two sisters, Gudelia Chavez and Maria Eugenia Chavez; several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Eloisa, Cristina and Raquel Chavez and three brothers, Martin, Filiberto and Fabian Chavez. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Mexico.
