Charles Maxwell

Charles G. Maxwell, 82, of Sterling died Friday December 31, 2021 at Rock River Hospice & Home. Charles was born March 25, 1939 the son of Earl and Clara (Dettman) Maxwell. He married Nancy Hein on September 29, 1957 at Rock Falls Immanuel Lutheran Church. Charles retired from North Western Steel & Wire in 1995 after 30 years. He travelled full time with Nancy in their motorhome for 20 years. Survivors include his wife Nancy; four sons Doug (Denise) Maxwell of South Carolina, Steve (Kim) Maxwell of Glendale Heights, Roger (Kala) Maxwell of Sterling, Alan (Annette) of Mishawaka IN; two daughters Sherry (LeRoy) Smith of Sterling, and Michelle (Gary) Brown of Sterling; two sisters Dorothy Boles of Morrison, and Judy (Don) Popowski of Ukiah CA; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Jean Allen; and one brother Lawrence Maxwell. Visitation will be 9AM-11AM Friday January 7, 2022 with funeral service starting at 11AM at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation.
