Darlene P. Adolph

Darlene P. Adolph, 89, of Milledgeville, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison.

Darlene was born October 3, 1933, the daughter of Jesse and Hazel Hartman. She attended Mt. Carroll High School. She married the love of her life Vernon Adolph, Jr in 1950. They were married for seventy-two years.

Darlene held many roles over her years including farmer’s wife, waitress and owner of a local drug store. She voluntereed at and donated to the Carroll County Food Pantry, The Milledgeville Boosters and was a joyful member of the Red Hat Club.

Faith and family were the most important things to Darlene. She was a longtime member of the Dutchtown Church of the Brethren, Milledgeville. She was affectionately known as Mom to four and Grandma to seven. Darlene spent her years caring for and doing anything possible to help those who she loved.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon; four sons, Sam (Jackie), Lou (Carole), Steve (Jill) and Jeff; seven grandchildren, Jami (Steve) Shackelford, Abbie (David) Reitzel, Melissa Adolph, Stacey Brown, Joe (Lauren) Adolph, Jason (Danielle) Adolph and Justin (Anna) Adolph and eleven great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Ryan, Lauren, Hailey, Campbell, Bryce, Theo, Landon, Eliana, Storm and Idris.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald and daughter-in-law, Jill.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Dutchtown Church of the Brethren, Milledgeville with Pastor Terri Monnin, officiating. Burial will be at Dutchtown Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

A memorial has been established to benefit Carroll County Food Pantry and Milledgeville American Legion.
