David Duncan

David B. Duncan, 92, of Sterling, died Friday, January 22, 2016, at Regency Care in Sterling. David was born on February 16, 1923, in Thorpe WV, the son of Robert and Pearl (Dowell) Duncan. He married Ruby Billings on November 8, 1952 in Dixon, she preceded him in death on June 10, 2012. David worked at North Western Steel & Wire in the PA division for 32 years, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed a long retirement. He loved to fish and took great pride in his house and yard. He was devoted to his wife Ruby and dearly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Fred (Renee) Duncan of Sterling; one sister, Bradley (Lockie) Billings of Rock Falls; one granddaughter, Katie Wetzell, of Sterling; and one grandson, Chad (Sarah) Duncan, of Rock Falls; four great grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his parents, wife and four brothers William “Wade”, Robert, John “Jay”, Charles, Daniel (Gene) Duncan. Services for David will be held at 11AM, Tuesday January 26, 2016 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation, with the Reverend Wesley Dickson, of Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 10AM to 11AM Tuesday January 26, 2016 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation, in Sterling. A memorial has been established. Condolences may be sent to schillingfuneralhome.com.
