Donna Elaine Castle, 84, of Rock Falls, died August 30, 2018 at her home. Donna was born February 24, 1934 in Sterling, the daughter of Edwin Hjalmer and Verba (Grace) Kauffman. She married George Castle on November 23, 1953. He preceded her in death on August 2, 2003. She was a member of Harvest Time Bible Church, Rock Falls and was past president and secretary of the Rock Falls VFW Post 5418. Survivors include one daughter, Sherry Castle of Corpus Christi, TX; one son, Danny (Michelle) Castle of Denison, TX; one sister Iola (Babe) Masterson of Allen, TX; four brothers, Lawrence Nielsen of Downers Grove, Melvin Nielsen of Lakeland, FL, Marvin (Pete) Nielsen of Pontotoc MS, and George (Moose) Near of Zephyrhills, FL; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Castle; and one sister, Thoris Burger; and two brothers, Richard and Daniel Nielsen. Memorial service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Harvest Time Bible Church, Rock Falls, with Dalmus Meeks, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Private burial will be at Coloma Township Cemetery, Rock Falls. A memorial has been established.
