DOROTHY W. MC CONNELL STERLING- Dorothy W. McConnell, 89, of Sterling, died Saturday, May 20, 2017 at CGH Medical Center. Dorothy (Dottie) was born July 20, 1927 in Ashland, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Charles and Mildred (Balliet) Watters. She married John (Jack) W. McConnell on July 30, 1949 in Ashland, Pennsylvania. Dorothy had many passions including playing the organ and piano, needlework and knitting, motorhoming and camping, bird watching, cooking, reading, bowling, Mahjong, doing crossword puzzles, Christmas and playing games around the dining room table. Her greatest joy was creating memories with her “wonderful family”. Her lifelong love story with Jack began in 7th grade and continued through 67 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband, Jack of Sterling; two daughters, Deb (Ron) Moss of Carrollton, TX and Donna (Dave) Eversman of Crystal Lake; four grandchildren, John (Chelsi) Moss of Cleveland, OK, Benjamin Moss of Fort Worth, TX, Matthew (Liz) Eversman of LaGrange and Nicholas (Emily) Eversman of Sherman Oaks, CA; two great grandchildren, Lorilai Eversman and Lincoln Moss; and two great-grandchildren on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents. There will be no services. A memorial has been established to First Presbyterian Church of Sterling. .
