Dorthy Forbes, 86, of Sterling died August 26, 2017 at her home. Dorthy was born November 14, 1930 in Spring City UT, the daughter of George and Ferril (Christensen) Crisp. She married Flavel “Bud” Forbes on March 10, 1956 in Kewanee. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2000. Survivors include three daughters Cindy (Jerry) Poci of Rock Falls, Diane Forbes of Shawnee OK, and Brenda Forbes of Rock Falls; one son Gregg (Cindy) Forbes of Peoria; two brothers Tom (Norma) Crisp of Spring City UT, and Ted (Marilyn) Crisp of Hillsboro TX; three sisters Rosie (Vernon) Bosh of Las Vegas NV, Colleen Paxman of Jordan UT and Marian Lorensen of Roy UT; seven grandchildren Cameron Poci, Jennifer Poci, Dustin Forbes, Brandon (Summer) Hotchkiss, Jordan (Natasha) Webster, Bryson Forbes, and Brody Forbes; four great-grandchildren Addisyn, Lillian, Sophia, and Navaeh. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Richard Crisp, William Crisp, and Morris Crisp; and one sister Phyllis Baumbach. The funeral is at 10A.M. Friday September 1, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sterling with Matt Howzee of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints officiating. Burial is at Oak Knoll memorial park in Sterling. Visitation is from 5P.M. to 7P.M. Thursday August 31, 2017 at The Church of Latter-Day Saints in Sterling. A memorial has been established to Hospice of The Rock River Valley.
