DOUGLAS GUNTHER RICKLEFS MILLEDGEVILLE- Douglas Gunther Ricklefs, 54, died Saturday, October 15, 2016. Douglas was born April 10, 1962 in Sterling, the son of Ernst and Bernice (Wessels) Ricklefs. He married Gayle Devers on August 29, 1987 in Sterling. She preceded him in death on October 26, 1992. Douglas lived on his family farm, was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved working on the family farm. He also enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Survivors include one daughter, Darcy (David) Hamilton of Sterling; one sister, Denise (Jeff) Bramm of Morrison; one sister-in-law, Connie Ricklefs of Sterling; two brothers, Dennis (Charlene) and Denver (Becky Roush) Ricklefs, both of Sterling and two grand-daughters, Brooklynn and Remyingtonn Hamilton. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and Donald Ricklefs. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling with the Reverend Rick Koch of Dutchtown Church of the Brethren, Milledgeville, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to his granddaughters.
