Duane Olsen

STERLING-Duane M. Olsen, 90, died, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at CGH Medical Center of Sterling. Duane was born June 28, 1929 in Plainview, NE, the son of Maurice and Agnes (Johansen) Olsen. He married Beverly Miner on August 18, 1953 in Rock Falls. She preceded him in death on March 29, 2017. Survivors include two sons, Robert (Paula) Olsen of Prophetstown, and Ronald Olsen of Prophetstown; one daughter, Connie (Terry) Glenn of Sterling; one brother, Milton (Betty Lou) Olsen of Prophetstown; seven grandchildren, Joshua (Cora) Olsen of Bloomington, Martin (Monica) Olsen of Orangeville, Adam Olsen of Madison, WI, Jacob (Debbie) Glenn of Elmwood, Justin (Britney Steenlage) Glenn of Port Byron, Taylor Olsen of CA, and Mackenzie Olsen of CA; and nine great grandchildren, Nathan, Alex, and Kayleigh Olsen, Melody, Matthew, Andrea, and Austin Glenn, Mayson and Myka Olsen. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Beverly; one sister, Delores Hinrichs; and one brother-in-law, Art Hinrichs. Funeral Services will be 11AM Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling, with pastor Bree Truax of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Falls, officiating. Burial to follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park with full Military Rites. Visitation will be from 9:30AM-11AM on Wednesday prior to services at the funeral home.
