STERLING- Earl T. Stanley, 77, died Monday, May 15, 2017 at his home. Earl was born September 4, 1939 in Coleta, the son of Clark and Macie (Hogge) Stanley. He worked as an engineer with GE until his retirement in 1995. Earl had many hobbies and interests including gardening, nurturing his flowers and sports cars, but his greatest joy came from his family, and many friendships. Survivors include two daughters, Tracy (Doug) Gamm of Sterling and Linda (Rachel Remmel) Stanley of Rochester, NY; one son, Michael Stanley of Chicago; two sisters, Jean Stillman and Patricia (Charles) Fischbach, both of Sterling; two brothers, Kenneth Stanley of Coleta and Willard (Ruth) Stanley of Sterling; five grandchildren, Macie Sinn, Callie Sinn, Kyle Sinn, William Remmel and Benjamin Remmel; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 4-6 PM at the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling with A Celebration of Life to follow from 6-8 PM at the Sterling American Legion. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established to American Legion Scholarships. Condolences may be sent to www.schillingfuneralhome.com.
