EILEEN LEESMAN STERLING- Eileen Leesman, 94, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL. . Eileen was born January 14, 1917 in Rock Falls, IL, the daughter of William E. and Anna (Johnson) Olsson. She married Clyde Leesman on February 28, 1945. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1998. She taught grade school in several area schools prior to retirement.She enjoyed golfing and had made a hole-in-one, and traveling. In the 1940's she took flying lessons and did a "solo" flight. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rock Falls. Survivors include one daughter, Susan (Ken Unruh) Leesman of Englewood, CO; two sons, Thomas A. (Sharon) Leesman of Rock Falls and James Leesman of Loves Park; three grandchildren, Jennifer Leesman of Sterling, Benjamin Leesman of Boulder, CO and Christopher Leesman of Rockford. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Olsson and one brother, Clyde Olsson. Funeral services will be held at 10AM Monday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rock Falls with the Reverend Daniel Behmlander, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 3-5 PM Sunday at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. A memorial has been established to Good Shepard Lutheran Church of Rock Falls or United Way of Whiteside County.
