STERLING- Ellen H. Zigler, 84, died, Monday, April 06, 2009 at CGH Medical Center. She was a retired language arts teacher at Sterling High School and co-owner of Ben Franklin Printing. Ellen was born December 6, 1924 in Sterling. The daughter of James and Grace (Palmer) Haskell. She married Gerald R. Zigler on October 1, 1950 in Sterling. He survives. She was a Northwestern Graduate and member of P.E.O. She attended First Congregational Church of Sterling. Survivors also include one daughter, Kathleen Naudi of St. Louis; two sons, Eric (Karen) Zigler and Kevin Zigler, both of Sterling; one brother, James (Carmen) Haskell of Sterling; eleven grandchildren, David, Paul, William, Nathan, Charles, Mark, Joey, Anne, Sarah, Whitney and Samuel Zigler; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Schilling Funeral Home, with the Reverend Jeff Coester, pastor of First Congregational Church of Sterling, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday and from 10-11 AM Thursday, prior to services at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.
