Elma Rivera

ELMA RIVERA ROCK FALLS-Elma Rivera, 75, of Rock Falls, died Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Rock River Hospice and Home surrounded by her family, and after a short battle with Leukemia. Elma was born September 6, 1943 in Harlingen, TX. The daughter of Filiberto and Margarita G. (Garza) Rodriguez. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Rock Falls. She married Manuel Rivera on May 7, 1971. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1982. Survivors include one daughter, Kristela (Luis) Veloz of Rock Falls and one son, Karlos (Carrie Mahar) Rivera, one sister, Minerva (Jose Sr.) Salas of Sterling; two brothers, Oscar (Rosalba) Rodriguez of Houston, TX and Arturo (Oralia) Rodriguez of Harlington, TX and twelve grandchildren Xenya (Dalton Steinhagen) Rivera, Alejandro Veloz, Nevaeh Rivera, Sofia Rivera, Manuel III Rivera, Ellie Mahar, Samuel Rivera, Mia Rivera, Mia Mahar, Nadiya Rivera, Abigail Veloz, Milo Veloz; and special friend Margie Figueroa She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Manuel and two brothers, Jose Maria Rodriguez and Gilberto Rodriguez. Per Elma's request there will be no funeral services.Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements were completed by Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling.
