Elwood H. Koch, 92, formerly of Polo, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at CGH Medical Center. He was a dairy farmer for over forty years, then worked at Flex-O-Glass in Dixon for over 28 years, and most recently at Culvers in Dixon, prior to retirement. Elwood was born March 29, 1924 in Washington, the son of Harvey H. and Beatrice N. (Eberly) Koch. He married Eleanor Hummel on May 7, 1950 at East Jordan Church. He served in the United States Army Signal Corps during WWII, with General Eisenhower’s Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force. He was a member of East Jordan Church. Survivors include his wife Eleanor of Sterling; two daughters, Joni (Paul) Turner of Muscatine, IA, and Jennifer Koch of Polo; two sons, Jonathan (Barbara) Koch of Dixon and Jeff (Kathy) Koch of Chatham; one sister in-law, Elaine Haak of Polo and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Eileen B. Quinn. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 27, 2016 at East Jordan Church with the Reverend James Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at East Jordan Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Sunday at the church. A memorial has been established to East Jordan Church.
