Ernest Cox

ERNEST E. COX, SR ROCK FALLS - Ernest E. Cox, Sr., 77, died, Monday, November 13, 2017 at his home. He was employed at the former Northwestern Steel and Wire Company as an electrician, prior to retirement. Ernest was born July 11, 1940 in Apple River, WI, the son of Paul and Alberta (Belisle) Cox. He served in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Cox; one son, Ernest Cox, Jr; three sisters, Arlene Jackson, Anna Mae Dowd and Betty Nance and two brothers, Nathaniel and Herbert Cox. Survivors include three daughters, Michelle (David) Queen, and Nickie (Robert) Warren, both of Rock Falls and Jackie (Scott) Nicholson of Newton, IA; three sons, Fred (Debbie) Cox and Jason Cox, both of Rock Falls and Tyson Cox of Sterling; one brother, David Cox of Galesburg; twelve grandchildren, Camille (Brian) Lighthall, Jennifer (Daniel) Haskin, Jacob (Skylar) Cox, Joseph and Rebecca Queen, Amanda and Ashleigh Warren, Jordan and Jacob Veatch, Devon and Maven Cox and Michael Cox and ten great-grandchildren, Ashton, Kaitlynn, Alan, Evelynn, June, Benjamin, Ruth, Jarrett, Graysyn and Austin and his special “Chocolate” the Family Dog. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Calvary Cemetery, Sterling with Pastor Jeff Coester, of the Big Red Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 10AM - 12 PM at the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling prior to services at the cemetery. A memorial has been established.
