ERVA R. SCHERBINSKE HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA- Erva R. Scherbinske, 89, formerly of Sterling, died, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Meadow Lark Gardens, Board and Care, Huntington Beach, CA. Erva was born December 2, 1925 in Kulm, ND, the daughter of John F. and Emma F. (Kusler) Doering. She married Edwin Scherbinske on February 28, 1947 in Kulm, ND. He preceded her in death on, December 11, 1995. Survivors include, two daughters, Brenda (Gene) Courtright and Julie Carey (John Fitzgerald), both of Westminster, CA; one son, Dale (Joyce) Scherbinske of Mt. Prospect; four grandchildren, Gilbert (Tina) Carey, Robert (Erin) Scherbinske, Scott (Merdith) Scherbinske and Diane Scherbinske and three great-grandchildren, Ethan Carey, Vera Scherbinske and Coral Scherbinske She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Hilda Henne and Erna Schafer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling with Reverend Bob Hasselbring, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene of Sterling. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-7PM Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Alzheimer’s Association.
