EVELYN J. HUDGIN STRENGE ROCK FALLS-Evelyn J. Hudgin Strenge, 86, died April 6, 2016 at Avonlea, Sterling. Evelyn was born June 28, 1929 in Princeton, the daughter of Jay and Edith (Dalton) Chapman Hubbard. She married James W. Hudgin in 1956 he preceded her in death. She later married Robert L. Strenge, on September 28, 1963. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2006. She was a member of the Rock Falls American Legion, Rock Falls VFW and Sterling Women’s Moose. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Larry) DeJonge of Lyndon and Dale (Rusty) Clines of Atlanta GA; three sons, Richard (Peggy) Hudgin, James (Paula) Hudgin of Rock Falls and Richard (Christy) Strenge of Tamorra; one sister-in-law, Millie Lamkin of Harmon; one brother-in-law, Leland (Sandy) Hudgin of Loves Park; eight grandchildren, Tammy (Joe) Caudillo, Richie (Missy) Hudgin, Cari (Ken) Knox, Ryan Hudgin, Abbie Loy, Cory Hudgin, Matthew Hudgin and Nickalus Hudgin; ten great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Michael Hudgin and Terry Strenge; grandson, Troye DeJonge; two sisters, Verna Lawton and Joyce Wallace; and one brother Lavern Hubbard. Memorial service will be at 11 AM Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling with Dalmus Meeks, officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM, prior to services.
