FRANCISCO "FRANK" C. CANTU, JR. STERLING- Mr. Francisco "Frank" C. Cantu, Jr., 76, died at home on Saturday, December 25, 2010. Francisco C. Cantu was born on M arch 31, 1934 in Sterling, the son of Francisco and Juanita Cruz Cantu. He was a crane operator at John Deere before his retirement. Mr. Cantu was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling. He is survived by five sons, Frank K. Cantu, Jr. of Sterling, George K. (Donna Sue) Cantu, Atanacio Cantu, Federico Cantu, and Francisco Cantu all of Rock Falls; three daughters, Yolanda (Norman) Crider of Marietta, GA, Dianna (Mike) Southard of McConnelsville, OH, and Lori Cantu of Sterling; three brothers, Julian (Lupe) Cantu of San Benito, TX, Moises (Emilia +) Cantu and Rogelio "Roy" (Maria Rosario) Cantu both of Sterling; three sisters, Tomasa C. Granados of Indianapolis, IN, Juanita C (David) Rivera of Chicago Heights, and Alvina (Otilio) Puente of Edingburg, TX; sixteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco (Juanita C.) Cantu; one brother, Rogerio Cantu; and one sister-in-law, Emilia Cantu. Celebration Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, Dec 28, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Reverend Juan Ayala officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling. Visitation will be held from 11 AM - 1 PM at St. Mary Catholic Church prior to the funeral. A Memorial has been established. Condolences may be sent to www.SchillingFuneralHome.com
