STERLING - George F. Burks Jr, 41, of Sterling, died, January 14, 2021 at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove. George was born, August 6, 1979 in Sterling, the son of George F. and Angela (Griffith) Burks. He was a die hard Chicago Cubs Fan and pool player. George was a Little Debbie Distributor for twelve years. Survivors include his wife, Melessa; mother; Angela of Sterling; brother, Christopher M. Burks of Morrison; grandparents, Vernon (Shirley) Griffith of Morrison; aunts, Roberta (Bill) Rhodes, LuAnne (Russ) Spencer, Roberta (Bill) Dean, Brandi Burks, Sarah Clark, Linda Clark all of Sterling, Brenda (Darrel) Angier of Columbia City, IN, Sherri Saunders of Olwien, IA, Donna (Stan) Johnson of Lyndon, Helen (Duane) Doane of Rock Falls and Sandy (Don) Prescott of Morrison; uncles, Kevin (Rhonda) Burks, Bill Burks and Bob (Barb) Burks, of Sterling, Mike Griffith of Washington, IL, Jeff (Sarah) Griffith of TX, Harold Clark of Kentucky and Joe Clark; many cousins; his extended family, Michael Ullrich and Dana Crouse, their children, Kendall and Damion Ullrich, Marty (Kathy) Crouse of Amboy; Randy Ullrich and Missy Kisiel of Dixon, Brandi (Ron) Clark of Mendota, Marty (Vanessa) Crouse of N. Carolina and Barb Young. He was preceded in death by his father, George F. Burks Sr.; grandparents, Earl “Doc” (Pat) Burks and Ruby Griffith, aunt, Karen Clark; uncles, Tim “Mule” Burks and Howard Clark; extended family, Raigien Crouse and Randy Ullrich Sr. Visitation will be from 1PM-2:30PM on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation of Sterling.
