WONDER LAKE-Mr. Gerald "Jerry" A. Draffkorn, Sr., 74, died Tuesday evening July 2, 2013 at The Springs in Crystal Lake surrounded by his family. Gerald A. Draffkorn was born January 2, 1939 in Chicago, the son of Frank and Marian Quall Draffkorn. He married Susan Sullivan on August 8, 1982 in Wonder Lake. Jerry served in the U.S.Army. Jerry Draffkorn was a well driller retiring 3 years ago from Joseph H. Huemann & Sons of Ringwood. He was a member of The Church of Holy Apostles in McHenry. He is survived by his wife, Susan of Wonder Lake; two daughters, Jennifer (Patrick) Etherington of Round Lake Park and Jill Draffkorn of Woodstock; three sons, Jerry (Natalie) Draffkorn, Jr. of Woodstock, Jeff (Mary) Draffkorn of Mt. Prospect, and Jim Draffkorn of Wheeling; two brothers, Frank (Ellen) Draffkorn of Dallas, GA and twin-brother Tom (Janice) Draffkorn of Woodstock; eight grandchildren, Trey, Jonelle, Katie, Matthew and Jonathon Draffkorn and Nathan, Emily, and Logan Etherington. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marianne Cristy and one brother, Donald Draffkorn. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, July 6, 2013 at The Church of Holy Apostles, 5211 Bull Valley Road, McHenry with Reverend Paul White officiating. Burial will be at Christ the King Cemetery in Wonder Lake. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Friday at The Church of Holy Apostles in McHenry. Arrangements were completed by Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, IL. A memorial has been established to St. Vincent DePaul. Memorials may be sent to www.Schillingfuneralhome.com
