Henry A. John

Henry A. John, 96, of Morningside in Sterling, formerly of Dixon, went home to rest with his personal Lord and Savior on Thursday March 23, 2023. Henry was born June 8, 1926 in Dixon, the son of Henry A. John Sr. and Jennie (LeFevre) John. He married Beatrice (Bea) Boyd on April 29, 1950 in Dixon. Bea preceded Henry in death on August 24, 2021.

Henry was a lifelong member of St. James Evangelical Congregational Church in Dixon. They were also active with Siesta Bay Church in Fort Myers FL.They enjoyed traveling, camping and loved wintering in Fort Myers every year since 1975.

Henry and Bea were active in farming until their retirement in 1995.

They were happily married 71 years.

Survivors include one daughter Christine (Michael) Hubbard of Tontitown AR; one son Darrell (Susan) John of Galveston TX; one brother Donald (Shirley) John of Dixon; sister-in-law Nada Sullivan, Siloam Springs AR, and brother-in-law Russell (Dorothy) Boyd of Dixon; five grandchildren John (Abby) Hubbard, Sean Hubbard, Brad Hubbard, Daniel (Rosa) John, and David (Patrick Alvarez) Stansberry; two great-grandchildren Kyleigh Hubbard, and Olivia John; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Henry was also preceded in death by his parents; one sister Doris Schumacher, brother-in-law Russell Schumacher, brother and sister-in-law Randall and Doris Boyd, and brother-in law, Marvin Sullivan.

Funeral services will be 2PM Saturday April 1, 2023 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling. Visitation will be one hour prior from 1PM-2PM. Burial will take place following the funeral at Chapel Hill in Dixon.
