James Gerdy

James J. Gerdy, 77, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024. He was born in Miami, Florida on August 20, 1946 to Joseph and Lois (Geidner) Gerdy. James met and married Sharon Lee Maynard in Sterling, Illinois, where they lived for many years.

James was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed buying and selling antiques, and was an active member of the Corpus Christi Antique and Collectable Club. He was also an avid coin collector. Most recently, he worked for Hygeia Dairy managing retail inventory.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 47 years, Sharon Gerdy; and brother, F. Lee (Kathy) Gerdy; niece Heather of Sterling and many great-nephews.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lois Gerdy; one nephew Sean Gerdy.
