Janet Janssen

Janet Janssen 93, of Sterling, died, on August 6, 2019 at Rock River Hospice and Home, Sterling. Janet was born July 26, 1926 the daughter of Homer Ferguson and Sarah Hazel Wolf. She married Harold Janssen on July 26, 1986 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2007. Janet worked for National Manufacturing for many years and was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge. Survivors include two sons, Stephen Mathews of Sterling and Tim (Lori) Mathews of Round Grove; one daughter, Sarah (Gene) LeFevre of Rock Falls; three stepchildren, Donald (Anke) Janssen of Milledgeville, Larry (Linda) Janssen, and Debbie (Rick) Owen; one special friend, Willard Swords of Coleta; seven grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Dorthea “Sis” Colberg ; and three brothers, Burton Ferguson, Glen Ferguson, and one in infancy. A Funeral Service will take place at 3PM on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Schilling Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Steinke officiating. Visitation will take place from 2-3 PM one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 11AM on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.
