Jean Deets

STERLING-Jean K. Deets, 87, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at her home. Jean was born October 16, 1931 in Freeport, the daughter of Clarence C. and Kathryn (Fry) Parks. She graduated from Polo High School in 1949. She married Nolan Russell Deets, Jr., on June 19, 1960. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2015. Jean worked for the Polo school district for eleven years. She also worked for Kirlin’s Hallmark for thirty-seven years, being store manager for twenty-three years. She was a member of East Jordan United Methodist Church, and a member of the CGH Auxiliary since 1973. Survivors include one daughter, Lorena (Daniel) Conway of Rural Polo; one son, Corwin Deets of Sterling; two grandchildren Jessica, and Joshua Conway. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 10, 2018 at East Jordan Church with Reverend James Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at East Jordan Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Monday, prior to services and Sunday from 3-6 PM at the church. A memorial has been established to East Jordan Church and Happy Tails Animal Shelter. Arrangements were completed by the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling.
