Keith W. Hasenyager, 88, passed away peacefully at Sterling Pavilion Friday June 2, 2017 while on Hospice. Keith “Red” was born July 8, 1928 in Rock Falls at home. Keith and Margaret (Lange) were married July 17, 1948 at St. Mary’s Church in Sterling, IL. (Almost 69 years) Keith quit high school to work at National Manufacturing. He was employed at International Harvester, Lawrence Bros, Northwestern Steel and Wire, A& S Dairy and retired in 1987 from Wonder Bread. Each job he took was to provide a better life for his wife and four kids. He was a good hard worker and made many friends in this area. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Lange) Hasenyager, daughters Mary (Ken) McGinn of Rockford, IL, Cynthia (Bernie) Mammosser of Rock Falls, IL, Laurie (Geno) Jaques of Walnut IL, and Michael Hasenyager of Sterling, IL. Keith was “Grandpa Red” to four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. Rollin (Rosalie) Weber of Prophetstown is his only surviving brother-in-law along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. Keith loved golf, fishing and enjoyed his many trips and vacations he was able to take with family and friends through the years. Special friends, Bob Jacobs and Ernie Little were always a phone call or visit away, he enjoyed these past several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Hasenyager Sr, Etta (Lutyens) one brother, Kenneth (Roberta) Hasenyager Jr., three sisters, Lois (Kenneth) Cohenour, Rosalie Weber and Evalen (Jerry) Nelson. Cremation rites are being accorded by Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling, IL. A private family celebration of his life will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established, and memorials may be sent to Schilling Funeral Home p.o. Box 592 Sterling IL 61081.
