Lamar Neal

   Lamar Neal, 47, of Sterling, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, November 10, 2024.

  Lamar was born January 9, 1977 in Sterling, the son of Leroy Neal and Angela Penaflor. He married Shawna Gordon on May 7, 2022. He was a loving son, brother, husband and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always the “life of the party”. He was a great entertainer too, always singing and dancing. He always had a smile or a joke that kept everybody laughing. He was a dedicated Packers fan and loved to coach sports for the kids.

  Survivors include his wife Shawna Neal; his mother, Angela Penaflor; his siblings, Mark Neal, Craig (Dionne) Neal, Roque (Lisa) Penaflor, Antwan Neal, Leroy Neal, Jr., Francesca Montanez and Lee (Connie) Penaflor; his children, Alandria, Cassondra (Emanuel Williams), Leroy (Kalley Stoudt) Neal, Aliyah, Anika, Erica, Jenaea, Jeremiah, Jada, Jaylee and Janelle and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren and friends. 

  He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Neal; brother, Vincent Neal; sister, Hope Moore; aunt, Serita Neal; nephew, Anthony Lee Penaflor; maternal grandparents, Roque and Mary Lou Penaflor and his paternal grandmother, Sarah Neal.

  Funeral service will be held at 12PM Friday, November 15, 2024 at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. Visitaton will be from 10AM-12PM, prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sterling. 

  Family has requested for you to wear your favorite sports apparel to Lamar’s services.
