Linda Deets

Linda L. Deets, 77, of Sterling, died Friday, January 17th, 2020 at Rock River Hospice & Home. Linda was born on October 29, 1942 in Sterling, IL to Roy J. and Ola M. (Buhrow) Wolber. She attended Sterling schools and was a 1960 graduate of Sterling High School. Linda married Myron J. Deets on June 24, 1961 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Jordan in Sterling. Linda worked at National Mfg. from 1960 to 1963. She then stayed home to raise her three daughters. In 1975 she went to work at Bergner’s in the office and retired from there after 34 years of service. Linda was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Jordan. She was the church secretary there for many years. She enjoyed cooking and baking, playing the piano, singing at church and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Myron, three daughters Trudy (Tom) Landheer of Morrison, IL , Trina O’Brien of Sterling, IL, and Tricia (Tom) Krusenoski of Lockport, IL; four grandchildren, Adam (Tricia) Landheer, Amy (John) Sumption, Meghan O’Brien and Mitchell O’Brien; three great-grandchildren Chloe and Nolan Landheer, and Ryleigh Sumption. She was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Lucille Wolber and Leora Beveroth. Funeral services will be at 11AM Friday, January 24, 2020 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Jordan, Sterling, with Pastor Carol Soderholm, officiating and Pastor Roger Asplund, co-officiating. Visitation will be from 4PM-8PM Thursday at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. There will also be visitation one hour prior to services at First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Jordan, Sterling from 10AM-11AM Friday. Memorials have been established to Rock River Hospice and Home and First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Jordan, Sterling.
