MARCIA LOU RODEKAMP STERLING-Marcia Lou (George) Rodekamp, 59 of Sterling, went to be with her Lord, January 1, 2021. Marcia was born September 21, 1961 at CGH in Sterling, to Paul and Ruth (Heilener) George and was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran in Sterling, the 12th of November 1961, where she was a faithful member all her life. She married Carl Rodekamp the 25th of July 1987 in Richmond, KY. Marcia grew up and lived in Emerson, going to Emerson and Galt schools and graduating from SHS in 1979 and from Sauk Valley with her associates degree in 1983. She worked at the old YMCA with their childcare program and then for nearly 20 years at the Sterling McDonalds until ill health forced her to retire. Survivors include her husband, Carl; mother, Ruth Heilener George; daughter, Kelsey (Tanner) Lightner of Morrison and her beloved grandsons, Jareth and Anaken; step-son Clayton Rodekamp of Romeoville and step-grandsons, Wyatt and Elijah Rodekamp; siblings, Alan (Jeanette) George of Prophetstown; Susan Kuehl of Morrison; Carolyn Reppe of Winfield, David (Jill) George of Port Byron and Mark George of Milledgeville; father-in-law, Carl Rodekamp of Clinton, IA and brother-in-law, Rob (Michelle) of Clinton, IA; aunts, Lorraine (Bob) Knicl of Dixon and Barbara Millerschoen of Sterling; two uncles Reverend Raymond Heilener of Memphis, TN, Myron Yoeckel of Moline; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul George; mother-in-law, Barbara Rodekamp, her grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Marcia was a friend to everyone she met and loved to visit both in person and on the phone. She was an animal lover, always had a dog and numerous cats. She loved her crafts, making jewelry, wreaths. She also enjoyed camping, gardening and cooking. She was always busy making things for her church and those she loved. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial service will be 10A.M. Saturday January 9, 2020 at Firehouse of God Ministries with Brian Tribley officiating and Makayla Dahleen of St.Paul Lutheran Church, co-officiating.
