Margaret A Flowers

MARGARET A. FLOWERS STERLING-Margaret A Flowers, 93, passed away peacefully at Rock River Hospice Home, in Sterling on February 14, 2021 with her daughter Donna and son in-law David by her side. Born on August 21, 1927 in East St Louis IL, she moved with her family to Chicago at an early age.She attended St Alphonsus Catholic School, from grammar school through high school graduation. As a child she lived a couple of blocks from Wrigley Field, and had fond memories of roller skating down the ramps and getting left over hot dogs from the vendors. She worked for the CTA at the Merchandise Mart, and participated in their choir. She retired from work when she had her first of four children. She enjoyed sitting on her swing outside on warm days, doing her crossword puzzles and watching Wheel of Fortune. She always had a smile when family and friends came to visit. Loving wife of Robert E Flowers (deceased), beloved mother of Robert J Flowers, Donna (David) Pozezinski, Daniel Flowers, Margaret Joy (deceased). Cherished grandma of Ryan, Amy, Nicolas, Madeline, Natalie and Judy She was preceded in death by: her husband Robert Flowers, parents John and Elsie Forristal, sister and brother in-law Kathrine /Richard (Tex) Bee, brother and sister in-law John /Rosemary Forristal, and daughter Margaret P Joy. Her final resting place will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights IL. There will be no public service for Margaret, she will be laid to rest next to her husband Robert in the spring with her close family in attendance. Arrangements were provided by Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.
