Marianne B. Hartshorn

STERLING- Marianne B. Hartshorn, 86, of Sterling died Sunday March 6, 2022 at home surrounded by family. Marianne was born February 9, 1936 the daughter of Lee and Clara (Nicklaus) Clayton. She married Robert D. Hartshorn on October 15, 1954 in Dixon. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1999.

Marianne was an avid reader, and she enjoyed spending many weeks camping and traveling with her husband throughout their marriage. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church for 68 years. She treasured time spent with her friends, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters Debbie (Bob) Kibodeaux, and Kandra (Newell) Cook; one son Donald (Mary) Hartshorn; grandchildren Kelli Vilmont (Jarrett), Bobby (Elisha) Kibodeaux Jr., Mindy Karrow, Marisa Perales, Kimberly (Jacob) Nelson, Christine (Matthew) Murphy, Heidi (Eric) Milner; great-grandchildren Kennedie Vimont, Kellen Kibodeaux, Kinsley Kibodeaux, Adrian Kibodeaux, Preston Kibodeaux, Braden Karrow, Abigayl McFalls, Addison Perales, Chance Perales, Blake Nelson, Kobe Nelson, Torrie Nelson, Paige Bontz, Kiersten Bontz, Landon Murphy, Oliver Murphy, Morgan Milner, Declan Milner; nephew James Clayton and niece Karen Sircy.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Robert Clayton, Charles Clayton; two sisters Barbara Clayton, and a sister in infancy.

Visitation will be 4:30PM-7PM Wednesday March 9, 2022 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling. Funeral services will be 11AM Thursday March 10, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sterling, with a visitation one hour prior from 10AM-11AM. Burial will take place at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

A memorial has been established to St. John’s Lutheran Church and Happy Tails.
