Marilyn Slifer

STERLING- Marilyn Slifer, 80, of Sterling, died Thursday, April 16, 2015. Marilyn was born on June 6, 1934, in Ogle County, the daughter of Orville and Lydia Lucille (Meyers) Kitzmiller. She married Lawrence Slifer on August 1, 1954, in Dixon. Survivors include her husband Lawrence; four daughters, Sandra Slifer, and Valarie (Daniel) Stallings, both of Rockford, and Laurie (William) Free, and Barbara (Robert Sr) Linton, both of Sterling; one son, Lawrence Slifer, Jr, of Sterling; one sister, Arlene Offil, of Chadwick; one brother, Daryl Kitzmiller, of Sterling; eleven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; three brothers; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 10 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, with Bishop Tyler Gunderson, officiating. Visitation will be Monday, April 20, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. Burial will be held at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Sterling. A memorial has been established.
